04.02.09:  The Credit Crunch has hit home, hard. My margin loan hit the roof, so my Financial Adviser says it's time to sell out before it all evaporates. In my arrogance, I always thought I could tough it out, but no longer. Age 33 is young enough to start again, but what a lesson! A real kick in the guts to my (misplaced) pride.

Tell those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone. But their trust should be in the living God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. 1 Timothy 6:17

I still have a good job, a reliable car, and a great family. Isnt that enough? What is most important, really? I'm actually glad God's putting his finger on my priorities. About time I got some perspective.

So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him? King Solomon, 250 BC

And just to ensure the meat is well tenderised inside and out, you can add a broken hammock, bruised hip and fractured tailbone. Joy!

18.11.08:  Becky took her first steps about a fortnight ago, and has really taken to this toddling thing. Today she toddled all the way across the living room, to great applause from a very proud Mummy and Daddy. She says Dada, Nana, and Bear - not bad for a 1 year old learning two languages! She's also signing clearly for milk, help, and finished. Just like her mother, she's as bright as she is beautiful. Check out the cuteness.

I continue to be very grateful for an enjoyable, interesting job at the Reserve Bank that gives me rostered days off, heavily discounted gym and restaurant, and 4 weeks carer/sick leave on top of annual leave, all for only 36.83 hours a week. I love being a public servant.

Starting to look into the idea of multiple property investment. The Investors Club seem pretty good so far, but I have lots of research to go. Any suggestions? I'm all ears.

23.9.08:  Becky stood on her own for the first time today! A whole 10 seconds! And yesterday, she crawled up the stairs to visit Nana and Grandpa all on her own. Two firsts in two days. This kid rocks!

BTW, Living with my folks has really worked out to be a lifesaver. They have been a constant source of understanding, help, and friendship. Not to forget the sanity-preserving benefits of Grandparents-On-Tap. :) We're on a good thing, and we're sticking to it!

5.5.08:  After 8 months in the jobless desert, I finally landed a great job with the Reserve Bank of Australia (they print money). While all those fruitless interviews were frustrating and disheartening, I can see that God had a plan for me to be at home to enjoy Rebecca's first 6 months.

And what a gift! We formed quite a close-knit little family in the last 8 months, and we're really missing each other now I'm at work. But thankfully my boss values family as strongly as I do, so the hours are very family-friendly.

So it's all falling into place...

27.10.07:  We are proud to announce the birth of Rebecca Magdalene Harvey, weighing 3.35 kilos, 52 cm long. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and stunningly gorgeous.

Mum and daughter are both well, sleeping a lot, while besotted Dad is falling in love all over again, with both of them.

Some cute video clips of our pride and joy.
